Perez Art Museum of Miami

Herzog & de Meuron‘s design for the new building has drawn critical acclaim. For example, the Wall Street Journal stressed that their design could be instrumental in making the museum a destination and the New York Times called the design “spectacular”  The Washington Post went as far as to say that “the new setting is as much a part of the gallery as the collection”.

The main entrance of the Contemporary Museum is composed of 2 sets of 3 double doors and a vestibule separating them. Select Grade Teak in the 3 1/2″ thick doors are engaged by a 7 point locking system that swings on oversized Pivot Hinges. Custom manufactured Bronze Pulls and Bellini hidden locking mechanism makes the unique construction of the doors in the museum a celebration of fine carpentry.

Designed by Herzog and Meuron Architects, the doors and windows of the Contemporary Museum were manufactured and installed by Bellini Mastercraft.

Since 1992 Bellini Mastercraft has manufactured unique doors for the unique landmarks bringing beauty and unparalleled excellence in wood craftsmanship.
